United Community Bank of ND and the Minot Country Club hosted the 4th Annual Run for the Hills event on Monday, June 4. This unique event featured a new course since the inception of the run, which covered the back nine holes of the country club. A $100 gift card was provided to the top male and female, with the winners being Noah Rolfe, time 11:47 and Danielle Turk-Bly, time 12:40.
This year, over 150 individuals registered for the race and nearly $2500 was donated to Companions for Children. “Companions for Children is an outstanding organization that provides great opportunity for youth in our community,” says Jennifer Hubrig, United Community Bank Marketing Director. “We appreciate the opportunity to bring awareness to such an important need in our community.”
“The families, mentors, staff and Board of Directors greatly appreciates the continued support from United Community Bank.” states Heather Cymbaluk, Companions for Children Executive Director. “We enjoy seeing Minot and area residents come out to support Companions for Children as well as discover what the beautiful Minot Country Club has to offer. Without the support from businesses such as United Community Bank, we would not be able to continue our mission to provide mentors and role models to children in the Minot community.”
In under five years, Companions for Children has grown from serving 13 children in the Minot and surrounding area to capping their abilities at 100 children. These mentors serve as role models to help youth through challenging and crucial times in their lives.
